Wright named interim principal at Truman

Andy Wright has been appointed as interim principal for Truman Elementary School in the Lindbergh School District for the 2003-2004 school year.

Wright currently serves as assistant principal at Truman.

He will replace Lynne Glickert, who has accepted a position in the University City School District next fall.

Wright joined the Lindbergh staff in 1998 as a third-grade teacher at Kennerly Elementary.

He also taught fourth grade at Kennerly before being named assistant principal at Truman for the 2002-2003 school year.

In a news release, Superintendent Jim Sandfort stated, “Lindbergh School Dis-trict and Truman Elementary are fortunate to have an assistant principal with some very special talents, who is already in-volved in serving parents. The decision to appoint Mr. Wright as interim principal in the fall will allow us to make a smooth transition into the next school year.”

Wright received his bachelor of arts de-gree in elementary education from Rock-hurst College and his master of arts in education administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is working on his doctorate at UMSL.

He has served on several Missouri Assessment Program committees at the state and local levels. He and his wife, Kathleen, have one daughter, Caroline.

Wright is actively involved in St. Jo-seph’s Church in Imperial.

“I am looking forward to serving the Truman family as principal,” he stated in the release. “I believe that a strong partnership between families and school will give our children great opportunities for success. We are initiating many community building events at Truman to strengthen this partnership.”
