Web exclusive: Missouri’s incoming state auditor remains mum on his plans

Republican Tom Schweich said he is not yet ready to announce his plans when he assumes the office of state auditor in January.

“I do (have plans), but I’m not ready to talk about those yet,” Schweich said. “We’ll make an announcement once we have everything settled.”

Schweich defeated incumbent Democrat Susan Montee for the office in the Nov. 2 mid-term election.

Schweich, who resides in the St. Louis area, was in Jefferson City Thursday — Nov. 18 — meeting with staff of the auditor’s office.

He will take office at noon on Jan. 10.
