‘We must go without’ to ensure children receive a solid education

To the editor:

I read with interest some of the comments from readers in regards to Proposition C for the Mehlville School District.

And I must ask some questions: Are all retirees in the Mehlville School District this selfish?

Or is this just a small vocal minority of the retirees that are just cheap and do not care about the future of the children within their school district?

It is our moral duty to help these children have a good future by providing a solid education for them. This cannot be accomplished by being cheap and getting rid of teachers and services that help the students. We must sacrifice to reach this goal. We must go without to reach this goal.

This type of behavior is called altruism. Look it up.
