Washington University dean to rap Feb. 4

Henry Biggs has led a diverse life.

He studied Latin at Harvard, picked up a master’s degree in civilization from the Sorbonne, holds a master’s degree and a doctorate degree in romance languages from the University of California-Los Angeles, lived in a castle, studied German at the Goethe Institute in Germany, swam the English Channel and released two rap CDs.

During the day you will find Biggs “deaning” at Washington University and during the evening you will find Headmess “rapping” at local entertainment venues.

His latest venue combines his love of teaching with his love of rapping in a lecture at Thomas Jefferson School, according to a school news release.

As a songwriter, Biggs’ works are social commentaries, word puzzles and fun music. As a teacher, his songs are explorations of linguistic study.

This free lecture at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, on the campus of Thomas Jefferson School, is part of the Lawrence A. Morgan Lecture Series offered each year by the school and is open to the public.

Call 843-4151 for reservations.
