Wagener named new principal at Trautwein

Donna Wagener has been named the new principal of Trautwein Accelerated School.

Wagener comes to the Mehlville School District from the Francis Howell School District where she was an elementary teacher and assistant principal.

The school board voted 5-0 last week to extend a one-year contract to Wagener for the post for the 2008-2009 school year at a salary of $95,762. Board members Karl Frank Jr. and Erin Weber were excused from the May 15 closed session.

Wagener is excited to join the Mehlville School District, according to a news release.

“I can’t wait to get to know our students and build relationships with the community and staff,” she stated in the release.

Wagener has a strong background in leadership and team building along with literacy programs and staff development.

“I look forward to continuing the great things that have been started at Trautwein and continuing to move the school forward,” she stated.

“We are happy to have her at Trautwein. I think she will be a great fit with our students, staff and community,” Trautwein Accelerated School Assistant Principal Dave Meshke stated in the release.

Wagener will start her new post July 1.
