Union Road reopens after water main break

Union Road is open again after it was shut down overnight Wednesday due to a water main break.

A 12-inch water line belonging to Missouri American Water ruptured underneath Union, near Southern Aire Drive, mid-afternoon Wednesday, county Department of Public Works spokesman David Wrone and Missouri American Water spokesman Brian Russell told the Call in an email.

Since the water main break damaged the pavement on Union Road, all lanes of traffic were shut down from South Lindbergh Boulevard to Will Avenue overnight Wednesday so the utility could make repairs.

The road reopened soon after noon Thursday after repairs were completed, Wrone said.
