Two suspicious deaths of women in South County within eight days of each other are unrelated, police say.
A woman’s body was found Thursday in Ruprecht Quarry at 3910 Paule Ave., near Interstate 55 and River City Casino Boulevard. It was called in as a possible drowning, but police are investigating the cause as a “suspicious death” pending autopsy results.
The body of Lisa Ball, 26, of Lemay, was found March 20 on a street corner near her house, at the intersection of Jefferson Barracks Road and Corliss Drive. Police also considered her death suspicious, but the cause of death is awaiting toxicology results.
Some residents linked the two deaths on social media since both women were found dead in Lemay, albeit miles apart.
But police spokesmen confirmed to the Call Friday that the two deaths were unrelated.
In Ball’s case, toxicology results will be key to finding out what happened.
“Toxicology should help in this case, and that takes months,” police spokesman Sgt. Shawn McGuire said.
Police are investigating both deaths through the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.
If anyone knows anything about the deaths, police are asking that they contact the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210 to speak to investigators.
