Two teachers in running for MASC state awards

Two Mehlville School District staff members have been selected by the Gateway District of the Missouri Association of Student Councils as the 2010 Adviser of the Year for their respective school levels.

Mehlville Senior High School math teacher Jane Ebert and Margaret Buerkle Middle School technology literacy teacher Cathy Helfrich also are eligible to win the statewide title of 2010 Adviser of the Year, which will be presented at the MASC’s State Convention in March in Jefferson City.

The MASC is divided into seven districts across the state, and each district selects an honoree for the Adviser of the Year at the middle and high school levels.

To win the Missouri Adviser of the Year honor, Ebert and Helfrich will compete against winners at their school level from the organization’s six other districts. The state award is determined by the MASC’s Executive Board.
