A group of 75 Trautwein Accelerated Elementary School students recently participated in a Math-a-thon fundraiser for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Thanks to the efforts of the Trautwein students, a total of $4,131.77 was collected to support the efforts at St. Jude’s, according to a release from the Mehlville School District.
Second-grade teacher Aimee Farmer organized the Math-a-thon at the school. Students set a goal of raising $4,000 and were excited to exceed their target. All the money raised will go directly to helping children at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital receive and pay for treatment. As a result of the amount raised, Trautwein received a telescope. The top fundraiser, student Matthaeus Wanninger, garnered 15 sponsors and collected $318. He was rewarded with a certificate, a sports bag and a digital camera.
