Town-hall meeting set March 29

The South County Democratic Coalition will sponsor a town-hall meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Crestwood Court Community Center, Watson and Sappington roads.

Sixth District County Councilman Steve Stenger, D-south county, will serve as moderator of the meeting, which will feature Bob Baer, president and CEO of the Metro transit agency, and Anthony Badino, area coordinator of Organizing for America.

The meeting is designed to inform voters about Metro’s long-range plan for transportation and the agency’s Proposition A half-cent sales-tax increase that is on the April 6 ballot. Organizing for America is the grass-roots organization that is assisting in promoting President Barack Obama’s legislative agenda.

The South County Democratic Coalition is comprised of five south county township organizations: Concord, Gravois, Lemay, Oakville and Tesson Ferry.
