Tigers set to roar against Parkway North

By JEFF STAHLHUT

For the Call

If the Oakville Senior High School football Tigers are going to improve this season, Friday’s game against the Parkway North Vikings would be a very good place to start.

Tigers Head Coach Jerry Maulin knows North has some quality players, though, and the Tigers will need to play very well to come away with a win. “North has a great quarterback (Blake Eyres), a real good tight end (Mike Lindsay) and running back (Aaron O’Neal),” Maulin told the Call.

To have success, the Oakville Tigers will have to keep O’Neal in check, but Maulin has confidence in his team.

“We have a really good attitude,” he said. “We think we have a good team, and expect to be in top form for the beginning of the season.”

Even so, Maulin knows that if the Tigers are going to win more games than they lose this season that his team will need to not make a lot of mistakes.

“We have a good line, and a solid team, but we have to play to our potential,” Maulin acknowledged.

The Tigers’ season gets started when they take on Parkway North at 7 p.m. Friday at Parkway North High School, 12860 Fee Fee Road.
