Three south county legislators to hold joint town-hall meeting at South County Tech

Three south county legislators and a legislator from Kirkwood will hold a joint town-hall meeting and tour of South County Technical School Saturday morning.

Reps. Doug Beck, D-Affton; Sarah Unsicker, D-Shrewsbury, who represents Crestwood; Deb Lavender, D-Kirkwood; and Bob Burns, D-Affton, will hold the town hall and tour 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at South County Tech, 12721 W. Watson Road.

“The 2018 legislative session has been quite eventful to say the least,” Beck said in a news release announcing the town hall. “My colleagues and I wanted to take this opportunity to brief our constituents on some of the issues being discussed in the Missouri Legislature and allow them time to offer input, ask questions or express their concerns.”

South County Tech is a “gem to south county,” Burns said, and he hopes people will attend the meeting and tour so they can see the school and learn more about the academic and professional tools South Tech has to offer.

“South Tech renders a great deal of resources and programs that assist in preparing students for their college careers and their entrance into the workforce,” Unsicker said in the release. “I am excited to participate in this tour with citizens of St. Louis County and explore the many different academic options and immersive experiences South County Tech provides its students with.”

The legislators are inviting constituents from all four districts and sent information out to each of the high schools in these districts so that high school students can participate in the tour as well.
