Jack Thayer from Holly Hatfield’s third-grade class at Sappington Elementary School spent nearly two years coding a math program called ‘Jack Math.’ This program helps students learn addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. His father, who studied engineering, taught Jack how to code in Python.
‘Python is one of the more simple languages,’ said Jack. ‘That’s why I used it to create my program.’
When opening the program, Jack Math prompts the user to choose addition, subtraction, multiplication or division and asks the number of problems the user wants to complete.
