The Theiss Road bridge reopened to traffic earlier this morning, according to the county Departments of Transportation and Public Works.

The structure has been closed just north of Eli Drive since Aug. 2, while a St. Louis County contractor repaired damage incurred during last December’s heavy rains. Tree branches and trunks were washed into the creek and repeatedly struck the bridge.

Roughly 3,800 vehicles travel across the bridge every day.

Gershenson Construction performed the rehabilitation work under a $28,780 contract with St. Louis County.
