Tesson Ferry Library to permanently close Nov. 14

The Tesson Ferry Branch County Library will permanently close at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.

Construction on the new Grant’s View Branch, replacing the Tesson Ferry Branch, will be completed in early December. Patrons are being directed to the Oak Bend Branch at 842 S. Holme, to retrieve holds during the transition, according to a news release.

The Nov. 14 closing date will allow library staff to move the collection into the new Grant’s View Branch at 9700 Musick Road.

Construction began in September 2014 on the Grant’s View Branch. The new building features a two-story glass atrium, two community meeting rooms, new computers — including an instructional lab — a large teen space, an expanded children’s area with a program and crafts center, a community garden and a children’s garden.

Construction on all of the new and renovated buildings in the first phase of the “Your Library Renewed” campaign is expected to be complete by the end of 2016, the release stated.
