Kayla Kennedy, 10, has been chosen as a State Finalist in the National American Miss Missouri Pageant that will take place Friday, Aug. 10, and Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Hyatt-Union Station in downtown St. Louis.

The winner of the pageant, which is for girls ages 10 to 12, will receive a $1,000 cash award, the official crown and banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant at Disneyland in California.

Kayla’s activities include serving on the Student Council at Simpson Elementary and dancing at Studio C in south county, according to a news release.

She also enjoys swimming, going to Six Flags and spending time with her family and friends.

Her parents are Jim and Kelly Kennedy.
