Jayne Swantner of south county recently was presented a 2004 Children’s Champ-ion Award from Vision for Children at Risk for her many contributions to promoting the well-being of children and youth in the St. Louis region.
Swantner has more than 40 years of volunteer leadership to the South County YMCA and other organizations.
She was among the founders of the YMCA branch and led fund-raising efforts for the YMCA building on Tesson Ferry Road.
Swantner remains active as a leadership volunteer for the YMCA.
“We are very proud of our Children’s Champion Award winners. They exemplify the excellent work that many people are doing to promote the well-being of children and youth in the St. Louis region,” Richard Patton, executive director of Vision for Children at Risk, stated in a news release.
Vision for Children at Risk is a regional collaborative organization working to improve the health and well-being of children and youth in the St. Louis region.
