To the editor:

I find it disturbing that the city of Sunset Hills could possibly have a husband-and-wife team as a mayor and alderman duo.

As it stands now, Claudia Svoboda is running unopposed as Ward 4 alderman and will be automatically elected. Her husband is running for mayor.

I can’t imagine the city residents feel this is a smart or prudent way to run city government.

Also remember that although Ward 4 Alderman Pat Fribis has good qualifications and was elected last year, Mike Svoboda was the one who originally appointed her as his replacement.

I find this all a bit too cozy.
