To the editor:
I find it hard to understand why Sunset Hills Mayor Bill Nolan found it necessary to mail to the Sunset Hills residents an endorsement of Mike Sawicki for city collector.
This mailing came on Friday, March 30, the weekend before the Tuesday, April 3, election. Because of the timing of the mailing, it was nearly impossible for Mike McGilligan, Mr. Sawicki’s opponent, to send out information about his qualifications.
It appears that Mayor Nolan is trying to stack the deck with people who are in his circle, lowering opposition to his proposals. I hope I am wrong in this assessment.
What the mayor did is legal, but is it ethical?
