Students collect nearly $6,000 worth of toys

Lindbergh High School’s third annual Toys for Tots collection brought in almost $6,000 worth of toys and gifts for local children in need.

Representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps and veterans from Lemay American Legion Memorial Post 162 picked up the gifts and delivered them to more than 200 children in south county, according to a Lindbergh Schools news release.

Feed My People recommended several recipients for this year’s donations, the release stated.

In addition, toys were given to children and grandchildren of long-term patients at the Jefferson Barracks Division of the Veterans Affairs St. Louis Health Care System.

The collection was sponsored by junior class officers and raised $5,900.

Since 2011, Lindbergh High has raised $12,800 to benefit children in need.
