Four Lindbergh High School Student Council members, juniors Paul Nauert, Melanie Jianakoplos and Georgia Kastaris and Justin Riffle, a senior, spent their last week of summer break in the Colorado Rockies at Camp Cheley for a National Leadership Camp.

They convened with other student leaders from across the nation, and learned much about leadership skills and styles.

The Lindbergh High School Student Council sent delegates to National Leadership Camps this summer as part of its expanded activities as president of the Missouri Association of Student Councils.

As president, the Lindbergh Student Council hopes to lead student councils across the state in community service and will serve as host of the state convention in March — March 18 to March 20. More than 900 student leaders from across Missouri are expected to attend. The convention is totally student organized and run.

The statewide community service project will focus on the prevention of drunk driving and teen alcoholism issues.

The convention will be a chance to showcase the Lindbergh School District and St. Louis; thus the Lindbergh Student Council wants to involve the entire community in the state presidency, according to a news release.

The Student Council is seeking any individuals or businesses that might be interested in helping to sponsor this event.
