An essay written by a seventh-grader at Green Park Lutheran School won second place in a writing contest about patriotism that was sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2593 in Arnold. Middle school students wrote an essay on the theme ‘Are You Proud of Your Country?’ and Meredith’s essay won second place. She was honored at an awards ceremony and presented with a certificate, backpack and a monetary gift. Her essay moves on to the next level.
