Mehlville Superintendent Chris Gaines last week presented scholarships funded by the national superintendents’ organization to the two student advisers for the Mehlville Board of Education. Student advisers, pictured from left to right, Addie Martin from Mehlville High and Demi Elrod from Oakville High will receive $500 to support their post-secondary education upon graduation. The money comes from AASA, The School Superintendents’ Association. This summer board Vice President Larry Felton accepted a $1,000 check from AASA on behalf of the district. These funds are meant for student scholarships for the district the AASA president serves or for the high school he/she attended. Gaines is the president of the organization this year.
