Karen Callanan, daughter of Timothy and Kathleen Callanan of St. Louis, and Joseph Schneider, son of Richard and Kathryn Schneider of Beloit, Wis., announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

Callanan of St. Louis is a 1997 graduate of Cor Jesu Academy and a 2001 graduate of Truman State University. She earned her law degree in 2005 from the St. Louis University School of Law. She is employed by Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale of downtown St. Louis as an associate attorney.

Her fiancé, Schneider, is a 1996 graduate of Beloit Catholic High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He earned his law degree in 2005 from the St. Louis University School of Law. He is employed by Riezman Berger of Clayton as an associate attorney.

The couple plan an Aug. 12 wedding at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church in Green Park and a reception at the Holiday Inn/Viking in Sunset Hills.
