Some of the greatest soccer players and contributors in the storied history of the sport here will be honored by the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame Friday, May 5, at the St. Louis University High SI Commons.
Honorees will include Pat McBride, Al Trost, Bobby Kehoe, Carl Gentile, Pete Sorber, Denny Long, Jack Mackenzie, Robert R. Hermann, Val Pelizzaro, Steve Pecher and Denny Vaninger.
A special tribute, the August A. Busch Jr. Award, given for exceptional contributions to the sport, will be presented to Lou Fusz Jr.
Honorees will be interviewed by veteran soccer broadcaster and former player Bill McDermott and author Dave Lange. Ron Jacober and Greg Marecek will speak on behalf of the Hall of Fame.
