St. Francis pupils graduate from DARE Program

The St. Francis of Assisi School’s fifth-grade class recently graduated from the Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program. The program was presented by Officer Rich Leinweber of the St. Louis County Police Department and was supported by fifth-grade teachers, Mrs. Buelt and Miss Woods. The program consisted of discussion, study, role play and concluded with each pupil writing an essay about what the program taught them about drugs, the consequences of using them and how to avoid them. Shown are the six essay finalists from the graduating class. Pictured, front row, from left, are: Linda Epley, Rachel Wotowa, John Brusati, Elizabeth Flowers, Ryan O’Shea and Eric Hammann. Back row, from left, are: Buelt, Leinweber and Woods.
