Sperreng Middle School, in partnership with St. Louis Green, is collecting unwanted holiday lights for recycling through Jan. 12.
The public is invited to drop off holiday lights from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays in the front commons area of Sperreng Middle School, 12111 Tesson Ferry Road, according to a district news release.
Sperreng will be closed for winter recess from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3.
All of the holiday lights collected will be recycled and sent back to manufacturers to be used in new products, according to the release.
Some of the drive proceeds will go to Operation Food Search, a St. Louis area food bank.
