David Hupperts recently won a gold medal at the USA National Ka-rate-do Federation National Tourn-ament in Charlotte, N.C. Twelve-year-old David is 2005 national champion in his age group. A seventh-grader, David is an honor pupil at Washington Middle School. He trains at the Columbia Karate Acad-emy just across the Jefferson Bar-racks Bridge under Sensai Nick Reeder and has been doing karate for slightly more than two years. Da-vid is the son of Bryan and Cyndi Hupperts of south county.
