Joe Presson of south county recently was named Outstanding Junior Band Camper of the Week at Southeast Missouri State University.
Joe, who plays the tuba, will be in the ninth grade at Lindbergh High School. He is the son of Sue and Danny Presson of south county.
More than 100 students from the region attended the past session of the Summer Music Camp under the direction of Barry Bernhardt, according to a news release issued by Southeast Missouri State.
The theme of this year’s camp was “Making Music on the Mississippi Since 1957,” the release stated.
