Friday, June 14 

  • The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting “Coffee Chat with a Ranger” at 9:30 a.m. This program is free and does not require reservations. For more information, call 314-842-1867 ext. 230.  
  • SAJE Senior Ministry is hosting chair yoga at 10:30 a.m. at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Admission is $3 and SilverSneakers is accepted.
  • SAJE Senior Ministry is hosting ZumbaGold at 11:30 a.m. at Concord Trinity United Methodist Church, 5275 S. Lindbergh Blvd. Admission is $3.
  • Enjoy a classic movie on the big screen at the Cliff Cave Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 5430 Telegraph Road, from noon – 3 p.m. The film playing, “The Philadelphia Story,” is not rated and has a run time of 112 minutes. Refreshments will be provided. Open to adults. 
  • The Affton Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road, is hosting open pickleball from noon – 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 – 3:15 p.m. Admission is $2 per person or free for Renew Active and SilverSneakers members. Reservations start Monday at 8 a.m. by calling 314-615-8822.
  • The Grant’s View Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 9700 Musick Road, is hosting  “Investing in Your Child’s Future: Saving for College” from 2 – 3 p.m. The program is “hybrid,” meaning you can attend online or in person.   • The Meramec Valley Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 1501 San Simeon Way, is hosting “McVicar the Trickstar” from 2 – 3 p.m. Presented by Josh McVicar, experience an over-the-top comedy magic show. Open to children and families.  

Saturday, June 15 

  • The Affton Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road, is hosting open pickleball from 11 – 1 p.m. and 1:15 to 3:15 p.m. Admission is $2 per person or free for Renew Active and SilverSneakers members. Reservations start Monday at 8 a.m. by calling 314-615-8822.
  • Adventure through Middle Earth by watching the extended editions of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. This week, the Oak Bend Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 842 S. Holmes Ave., will be showing “The Fellowship of the Ring” from noon – 4 p.m. The film has an MPAA rating of PG-13 and a run time of 208 minutes. Open to adults. 
  • The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting a one-woman show by Peggy Harris at 1 p.m. The show is a collection of narratives depicting the lives of various strong Black women. This program is free, though reservations are required by calling 314-842-1867 ext. 230.
  • The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting a “Gen Z Event – ‘Slice of History: Games, Food and Music’” from 6 – 8 p.m. Enjoy an evening beginning with a photo scavenger hunt on the grounds of the park, followed by a free pizza party and live music by Decedy. Sunday, June 16 

  • Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 3600 Hampton Ave., has worship recorded and streamed every Sunday at 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Facebook and Youtube, and in-person.
  • The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, is hosting “Walk Through History: Healthy Parks, Healthy People Fitness-Based Program” from 2 – 4 p.m. Join a park ranger for fun, fitness and history on a 3-mile, leisurely paced, round-trip walk through Grantwood Village to the original site of Grant’s Hardscrabble cabin. This program is free, though reservations are required by calling 314-842-1867 ext. 230.

Monday, June 17

  • SAJE Senior Ministry is hosting a new activity, Tai Chi, from 10 – 11 a.m. at St. Thomas/Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 3980 S Lindbergh Blvd., in the lower level.   • The South County Republican Club and Theresa Douglas / Thrivent are co-sponsoring a Veterans BBQ from 6 – 9 p.m. in the cafeteria at St. Raymond – St. Elizabeth Church, 1420 Sappington Road. Wear your patriotic gear and bring a Veteran! Refreshments, food and entertainment will be provided. This is a nonpartisan event. 
  • Miss Jubilee will be performing jazz and blues from the 1920s-30s at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, from 7 – 8 p.m. PArt of the 2024 outdoor evening concert series.
