• South Tech High School, 12721 W. Watson Road, will host an open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitors can tour the school, meet with instructors and advisers, review class work and have their questions answered. • A Triva Night with Johnny Rabbit to help fund urgently needed repairs at the 209-year-old Sappington House will take place at the Crestwood Community Center, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane. • The South County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual dinner and auction featuring the theme of Holiday Cheer at Andre’s South, 4254 Telegraph Road. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Auction items will include furniture, jewelry, toys, trips and decorated Christmas trees. The cost of $50 per person includes dinner and an open bar. • Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10151 Sappington Road, will mark its 50th anniversary and the 500th anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation with a 50-500 Anniversary Celebration featuring family friendly games, bounce houses, church tours and free food from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. The celebration will continue from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday with a special church service followed by a catered lunch.
• The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, U.S. Grant Camp No. 68, will dedicate a plaque in remembrance of the Last Civil War Soldier-Sailor buried in St. Louis County at 11 a.m. at St. Monica Cemetery, 12140 Olive Blvd., Creve Coeur. The ceremony will honor August Moreau of the U.S. Navy, who was mustered on Feb. 11, 1863, and honorably discharged on Aug. 20, 1865.
