Thursday, Sept. 6

• The SAJE Senior Ministry will sponsor open-play pickleball, including instruction for new players, from noon to 3 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth of Hungary gymnasium, 1414 S. Sappington Road. The cost is $3. For more information, call (314) 822-4736.

• Mothers of Preschoolers will meet from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at South County Church of the Nazarene, 2500 Telegraph Road. Child care is provided. For more information, call (314) 269-6699.

• The Singles & Doubles Square Dance Club is hosting its first class. All are invited to attend. The first week is free and meets from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arden Mead Center, 17 Selma Ave. To continue classes, it is $5 per class per person for a 12-week session.

Friday, Sept. 7

• Food Truck Friday will welcome your favorite local food trucks at Laumeier Sculpture Park, 12580 Rott Road, from 5 to 7 p.m. Enjoy dinner in the Park with live music by The Facts O’Life (5:30-7:30 p.m.) No coolers allowed. Free for all ages.

• A Holy Hour for priestly and religious vocations will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Monastery of St. Clare, 200 Marycrest Drive.

Saturday, Sept. 8

• The Oakville Parents Club and Oakville Sports Pub are hosting a car wash to benefit Oakville High School from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oakville Sports Pub at 6348 Telegraph Road. Students and families will wash and dry cars for donations.

•The Oakville Community Market at St. Paul’s will be hosting an Auto Show at 5508 Telegraph Road. Registration of vehicles will take place from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Registration fee is only $5. Trophies will be awarded at 11:30 a.m. Visit the market’s Facebook page for more information or to request a registration form. Come enjoy the vehicles as well as the craft and artisan vendors and fresh produce at the Farmer’s Market.

• The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modeler’s Society presents its 13th annual Model Contest & Vendor Swap Meet at Holiday Inn St. Louis SW-Route 66, 10709 Watson Road. The contest has 38 categories and a special category: The Great War (WW1). Contest entries accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free children’s Make & Take model building session is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a raffle with proceeds going to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program in Metro St. Louis. Show admission is $3, $10 admission for unlimited number of contest entries. Free for children ages 14 and under.

• The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site presents Grant and the Vicksburg Campaign. Park guide Shawn Williams will talk about failures and successes that Grant had during the Vicksburg Campaign. Williams worked for several years at Vicksburg National Military Park. The event will be held at 7400 Grant Road and starts at 1 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 9

• Sunset Hills continues its Sunday Sunset Serenades from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Community Center lawn, 3915 S. Lindbergh Blvd.  Enjoy the cool September weather at the Community Center at Sunset Hills Parks & Recreation with Sunday Sunset Serenades, listening to live music and snacking on delicious treats that you can purchase from local food vendors. Bring your lawn chair or blanket and setup on the Community Center lawn for a great view of the band and the sunset, 5 p.m to  7 p.m.

• Hope Vineyard Church (formerly Vineyard Christian Fellowship) is having its 30th anniversary celebration from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2923 Telegraph Road, 63125. Free food, children’s games and building tours. Everyone welcome.

Monday, Sept. 10

• The Salem Lutheran Church Ladies Guild will hold their Bi-Annual Rummage and Bake Sale in the Fellowship Hall at Salem Lutheran Church 8343 Gravois Road from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. There will be something for everyone. Books, clothing, household items, toys, shoes, etc. and homemade bakery items. Proceeds from the rummage sale will benefit the church and school. Proceeds from the bake sale will go to the Affton Christian Food Pantry.

• The Rotary Club of Crestwood-Sunset Hills will meet at 12:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn-Viking, Lindbergh Boulevard and Watson Road.

• The Gravois Kiwanis Club will meet at noon at Sam’s Steakhouse, 10205 Gravois Road.
