Thursday, May 10

• The SAJE Senior Ministry will offer a lunch-and-learn program at 10:45 a.m. at Episcopal Church of the Advent, 9373 Garber Road. The event will feature Rev. Deborah Goldfeder, SAJE nurse, deacon at Advent Episcopal and missioner to South Sudan who will share photos, stories, and insights from her recent visit to South Sudanese refugees in one of the largest refugee camps in Uganda.  Complimentary lunch at noon.

• The Crestwood-Sunset Hills Kiwanis Club will meet from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rich & Charlie’s, 9942 Watson Road.

• Overeaters Anonymous will meet at 7:30 p.m. at 9907 Gravois Road, Suite E. Enter at the rear of the building.

• The Retired Men’s Club of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church will meet to play bridge from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the church, 45 W. Lockwood Ave. Men of all faiths are welcome.

• Free drop-in play of American Mah Jongg will be offered from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Pavilion at Lemay, 305 Gregg Road, Jefferson Barracks Park.

Friday, May 11

• St. John’s Lutheran Church and School, 3517 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, will sponsor its ninth annual Neighborhood Block Party at 6 p.m. The free event, open to the public, will feature food, games, face painting, clowns, inflatables, pony rides and a petting zoo. Live music and a vintage car display also will be offered with fireworks at 9 p.m.

• A jitterswing dance will be offered at the Concord Farmers Club, 10140 Concord School Road. Lessons start at 7 p.m. and dancing begins at 8 p.m.

• Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 765 Lemay Ferry Road, will offer open prayer sessions from 11 a.m. to noon Fridays, Mondays and Wednesdays.

Saturday, May 12

• The Mehlville/Oakville Alumni Association will host an educational swap at the Upcycle Treasure Box, 2625 Telegraph Road. Anyone can come and shop the swap. This is great for teachers retiring, switching grade levels, new teachers, or anyone who needs new materials. Your entry fee will get you in and you can take as much out that you can carry. You will need to provide your own bags. Any teaching materials are considered swapping materials, such as games, supplemental books,posters, organizational materials and everyday classroom supplies. Do not bring textbooks, clothes or household items. If you have materials to swap it will cost $5. If you just want to shop, the fee is $10.

• The International Folk Dance Association will sponsor folk dancing from 7:30 to 10:45 p.m. at University United Methodist Church, 6901 Washington Ave. For more information, call (314) 638-4024.

• The Meramec-Arnold Elks, 1515 Miller Road, will offer bingo at 5:30 p.m.

Monday, May 14

• The St. Louis County Senior Card Club for pinochle and bridge players meets from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crestwood Community Center, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane.

• The Affton White-Rodgers Community Center, 9801 Mackenzie Road, offers open-play basketball from 3 to 5 p.m. weekdays. The cost is $2 per person.

• Line dancing will be offered at the Concord Farmers Club, 10140 Concord School Road. Lessons are offered from 6:15 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., followed by open dancing until 9:15 p.m.

• Take Off Pounds Sensibly Chapter 1070 will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Church of Latter-Day Saints, 4511 Butler Hill Road. Weigh-ins will start at 6 p.m.

• ROC Ministries, 802 Kinswood Lane, will offer “Sewing-N-Faith,” a free gathering from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for crafting, sewing, knitting, crocheting and hand or machine quilting to serve those in need.

• Concord Church, 13775 Tesson Ferry Road, will offer a depression/anxiety support group from 6 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday, May 15

• The Ladies of Oakland will host their monthly meeting at 1 p.m. in the Oakland House, 7801 Genesta St. Listen to “Songs from Yesterday” with Elizabeth Hrebec. Open to visitors, and refreshments will be served.

• The Mehlville/Oakville Alumni Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the association’s office at 2625 Telegraph Road to discuss upcoming events and fundraisers.

• The Gateway Chapter 82nd Airborne Association will meet 7 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2593, 2301 Church Road, Arnold. All former paratroopers who are jump qualified and honorably discharged can attend.

• The Gateway Chapter of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. in the Lewis Fellowship Hall of Calvary Presbyterian Church, 3400 Lemay Ferry Road.

• “GriefShare,” a support group designed to help individuals cope with the death of a loved one, will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, 8749 Watson Road. To register, call (314) 961-5275.

• Affton Chapter 1015 of Take Off Pounds Sensibly will meet at 10 a.m. in Room 103 of the Salvation Army, 824 Union Road. Weigh-ins begin at 9:10 a.m. New members are welcome.

• The Crestwood Senior Dance Club meets from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Community Center, 9245 Whitecliff Park Lane. Ballroom, circle tag, round, line and Latin dancing are among the styles featured.  All skill levels are welcome. The cost is $1.

Wednesday, May 16

• Salem Lutheran Church will hosts its biannual rummage and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the church, 8343 Gravois Road. Proceeds will support the school and the church, and proceeds from the bake sale will go to the Affton Christian Food Pantry.

• An open grief support group designed to help individuals cope with the death of a loved one will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the de Greeff Hospice House, 10024 Kennerly Road. • The Kiwanis Club of South County will meet from noon to 1 p.m. at Frailey’s Southtown Grill, 4329 Butler Hill Road.

• The South County Toastmasters, the local chapter of an international group dedicated to helping members become better speakers and leaders, will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. at the MetLife Building, 13045 Tesson Ferry Road.
