SMMA School to introduce STREAM Studio

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque School, 4900 Ringer Road, will host an open house from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29.
Due to the Beyond Sunday Campaign, SMMA has opened a STREAM Studio for the 2017-2018 school year for students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
During the open house, parents, parishioners and prospective school families can view the STREAM Studio. SMMA students will be on hand to demonstrate how the lab is being utilized to enhance their education.
The STREAM Studio is a place where connected learning in the areas of Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math takes place. Students learn concepts in the classroom that are reinforced through hands-on experiments and projects in the studio to increase higher level thinking skills, work in collaborative groups and facilitate deeper topic exploration, a news release stated.
The room is equipped with three regular sinks and one laundry sink, tables and chairs that are mobile, a place for storage and supplies and four dry-erase boards for students to outline their design process for projects.
