I don’t normally comment on things in the newspaper, but I felt compelled to do so about this.
You have a picture of a 12-year-old boy skateboarder on your front page with the caption “skilled skateboarder.” Excuse me, but no skilled skateboarder would be doing what he is doing without proper equipment including a helmet, knee pads and elbow pads. What kind of a message does that say for other kids? Oh, it’s OK to skateboard on a “concrete” surface without a helmet.
Please print some kind of a message or something about how dangerous it is to skateboard without the proper equipment.
Helmets are not that expensive and they could very well save a child from a very serious head injury.
