Joyce and Scott Simpson of Imperial announce the birth of their fifth child, Ely Cooper, 20½ inches, 7 pounds, 10 ounces. He was born Oct. 26 at St. Anthony’s Medical Center.

Elder children include Sara, 17; Leann, 16; Travis, 14; and Austen, 12.

Maternal grandparents are Ralph Haertling and the late Janice Haertling of St. Louis.

Paternal grandparents are Ralph and Cherie Simpson of St. Louis.
