The county Department of Parks and Recreation will serve as host of the Silver Skates, a speed-skating competition this weekend at the Wayne C. Kennedy Rec-reation Complex, 6050 Wells Road.
This event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 5, and from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m. and from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 6. The speed-skating competition is open to the public and the admission is free.
The Kennedy Recreation Complex also will offer a free public skating session from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 5. Skates are limited and admission is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
