School celebrates pupils nationalities

Crestwood Elementary School pupils last week traveled worldwide with their passports, visiting 15 countries in the gymnasium to celebrate the cultures of the school’s English Language Learners. They ate pancakes in Croatia and played Klikeri, a marble game, in Bosnia. Pupils drew henna tattoos in India and painted their own Faberge eggs in Russia. Pupils stamped their passports at food, game and craft stations representing all 15 countries. The event, in its first year, was sponsored by a teacher grant from the Lindbergh Schools Foundation. Above, kindergarten pupils from Croatia, India, Vietnam and India wear outfits from their native countries at the May 5 cultural gala.
