Roy E. Barnette, 73, died Dec. 22.
A native of DeKalb, Miss., Mr. Barnette resided in St. Louis. He enjoyed his family and friends and exploring the forests of Mississippi.
Survivors include Mr. Barnettes wife, Joyce (nee Clay); daughter, Jill Shroff and husband, Steve; son, Dr. Alan Barnette and wife, Dr. Kate; grandchildren, Megan Shroff, Allison Shroff, Eliza Barnette and Lucy Barnette; brother, Robert Barnette and wife, Allison; brother-in-law, Bill Clay and wife, Judi; nephews, Brock Clay and Ryan Clay; nieces, Mitzi Kennedy and Candace Barnette.
Mr. Barnette was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood Gene and Esther (nee Dees) Barnette, and sister Wanda Kay Barnette.
Bill Barnette, Brock Clay, Ryan Clay, Jeff Herman, Richard Meyer, Doug Wilinson and Ryan Kennedy served as pallbearers.
Services were held at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons South County.
