Route 66 Classic Car Cruise slated Aug. 13

The second annual Route 66 Classic Car Cruise will take place from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.

Proceeds of the rain-or-shine cruise in Crestwood and Sunset Hills will benefit CHADS Coalition for Mental Health, an Oakville-based nonprofit organization.

Classic car registration and check-in will take place at Crestwood Court on West Watson Road at Sappington Road and participants will proceed to cruise Route 66 between there and Sunset Hills. Judging will take place from 1 to 2 p.m.

Such “On the Road” games as a poker run and a scavenger hunt will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Attendees will be able to view a procession of vehicles along Watson Road from 4 to 6 p.m. before moving to the south lot of Crestwood Court to cheer on the winners of the car show.

Sh-Boom, the area’s premier oldies band, will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.
