Members of the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees unanimously selected Michael P. Rohrbacker of Oakville to serve a one-year term as president of the board.

Rohrbacker, a broker for Carillon Group Inc., succeeds Joann L. Ordinachev, a retired counselor for North County Technical High School who resides in Affton.

Rohrbacker will serve as president through the regular board meeting next June.

Rohrbacker currently is serving his second term as the Subdistrict 4 representative on the college board. Subdistrict 4 is comprised of the Rockwood, Parkway, Valley Park, Kirkwood, Lindbergh, Mehlville and Meramec Valley school districts and small sections of Franklin and Jefferson counties. He was re-elected for a six-year term in April 2002. He served as board president during the 1999-2000 academic year and twice has served as board vice president.

A graduate of SLCC-Meramec, Rohrbacker has a bachelor’s degree in communication theory and rhetoric from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

Trustees also unanimously elected Dr. Dolores J. Gunn to serve a one-year term as board vice president.

Gunn of north county is a physician with the St. Louis County Health Department’s Institute for Research and Education in Family Medicine. She was elected to a Subdistrict 1 seat on the board in April 2002.

Subdistrict 1 includes the Hazelwood, Ferguson-Florissant, Riverview Gardens, Jennings, Pattonville, Ritenour, Normandy, Wellston, University City, Clayton and Brentwood school districts.

Gunn earned her doctorate of medicine from Wayne State University’s School of Medicine and earned a bachelor’s degree in science, zoology and biological anthropology from the University of Michigan.

She also completed accredited training in family medicine from the North Oakland Medical Centers in Pontiac, Mich.

Board members also chose Rebecca Garrison, executive assistant to the board, as secretary and Carla S. Chance, vice chancellor for finance and business services, as treasurer.

Besides Rohrbacker, Gunn and Ordinachev, other trustees are Patricia A. Moss, Lisa Taylor and Robert C. Nelson.
