The county Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, May 16, regarding a request to build condominiums on the former St. John’s El-ementary School campus at Will Avenue and Lemay Ferry Road
Greater Midwest Builders bought the 5.85-acre property from the Mehlville School District for $1.1 million earlier this year and now has a request pending before the Planning Commission for a zoning change to accommodate multifamily condominiums.
The sale is contingent on several factors, including rezoning of the site from R-4 Single Family to an appropriate zoning allowing residential multifamily condominium units.
The Planning Commission meets in the County Council Chambers on the first floor of the County Administration Build-ing, 41 S. Central Ave., Clayton.
Mehlville officials also conducted an in-formational meeting about the zoning re-quest Monday night — after the Call went to press.
