Resident: Police ignore Oakville, incorporation could be the solution

Letter to the Editor

To the editor:

The Thursday after Christmas, the traffic lights on Telegraph at Forder/Pottle were stuck on red flash. The Missouri Department of Transportation had two trucks of guys working on the problem.

Still, the traffic jam ran from north of Interstate 255 to beyond St. Francis of Assisi Church. When traffic lights on Telegraph misfire you can count on two things: a major traffic jam and the lack of St. Louis County Police making any effort to dispel the jam.

Remember, county cops work for Clayton, not Oakville. They are too important to direct traffic.

So, to all those who decry the idea of an incorporated Oakville, understand that results in a lack of local control and accountability. And, it means no cops mitigating traffic jams.
