If those who want to incorporate south county or create a new county think this will solve the problem of “outside interests” dictating what happens in south county, think again.
The “outside interests” will just become the “inside interests” and similar disputes with the local government will occur. No matter how big or small the government entity, there will be divergent ideas and angry citizens over zoning, building this or that, taxes, et cetera.
You cannot eliminate it.
Just look at Green Park and Crestwood. It’s the human condition.
Remember the law of unintended consequences.
