This Fourth of July, the American Red Cross Greater St. Louis Region will celebrate the nation’s veterans at the Jefferson Barracks Veterans Affairs Hospital, 1 Jefferson Barracks Drive.
Dozens of Red Cross volunteers will host a barbecue lunch and bingo game with prizes. The Red Cross also will provide gifts to all hospital patients. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Service to the Armed Forces is a key line of service of the American Red Cross, according to a news release. It is dedicated to serving the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families. The Red Cross provides social services to the families of military members; supports military and veterans health care facilities; and keeps military families connected during times of crisis through our emergency communications network.
The American Red Cross Greater St. Louis Region is a member agency of the United Way, which makes significant investments every year in Red Cross services.
