Reader wonders when Crestwood’s name will be changed to ‘Robinsonville’

Since reading the article in the SunCrest Call Thursday, Feb. 21, I wonder when Mayor Roy Robinson is going to change the name of Crestwood to Robinsonville.

I thought Crestwood was our city — the citizens of Crestwood — and not his city.

He wants the aldermen to communicate with him on their goals for the city.

“If they’ve got a question, they can come to me to see where I stand,” Robinson said.

Wrong, Mr. Mayor. The aldermen are representatives of the citizens of Crestwood.

They should set the agenda.

The mayor wants the aldermen to be the voice of the people, not “investigators.”

But, Mr. Mayor, the citizens are requesting to get some straight answers from City Hall. The aldermen are the voice of the people.

Another quote of the mayor in the interview in talking about the Board of Aldermen — “And now, you’ve got some that have very little experience. And it’s hard to get them trained.”

I guess you will have them trained when they start jumping through your hoop. By the way, where did you get your training to be mayor of Crestwood?

Mr. Mayor, I think you owe a big apology to the board members for your crude remarks about them in your interview with the Call.

I have been a resident of Crestwood for 52 years and you are the worst mayor we have ever had. And to think we’ve got you for another three years.

Donald E. Binz Sr.
