Reader wants to see ‘what sort of idiots we have driving Green Park Road’

To the editor:

I have just finished reading “Citizens could determine fate of plans for Green Park Road” in the Nov. 9 Call and have determined that Fred Hoehn has a very frightening point.

He states that in the city’s grant application, the city, in the safety section, lists 13 accidents in the year 2000, 11 in the year 2001 and 16 in the year 2002.

“I find out,” says Fred, “and I may be wrong, this grant is sent in and the city doesn’t have any of these accident reports on file … Nobody knows where they’re at.”

I have lived here in Green Park for 30 years now, use Green Park Road quite often and I can’t recall ever seeing an accident on that road. I suppose that’s because the road is so hilly and narrow, people who usually drive with one hand on the wheel and the other on their cell phone, when they start up this road, drop the phone, grab the wheel with both hands and give their undivided attention to what they’re doing.

Anyway, I sure hope we can lay hands on all those accident reports. I would like to see for myself what sort of idiots we have driving Green Park Road.
