Raymond Dumont, 77, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died July 3.
Mr. Dumont was born in Woonsocket, R.I., to Herve Dumont and Rita (Desmaris).
He is formerly of Millville, Mass., and attended high school in Blackstone, Mass.
Mr. Dumont graduated from Worcester Boys College in Worcester, Mass. For 54 years, he was married to the love of his life, Irene (nee Provencher).
Mr. Dumont proudly served in law enforcement for the Millville Police Department from 1978 to 1983. He also worked for Red Star as a truck driver until 2000.
Mr. Dumont was an active member of the Millville Lions Club, before becoming president in 1980. Upon moving to Florida, he participated as a member of the Wolf Lodge in Zephyrhills. He loved to travel and meet new people, was well known locally and enjoyed being a handyman.
Mr. Dumont loved working on cars, and was always up for a good game of poker.
He wasnt typically one to fall ill, and he fought bravely against cancer for 14 months.
Mr. Dumont is survived by his three adoring children: Donna Dumont (Souza) of South Carolina, Dale Dumont of Massachusetts and Patricia Carlisle (Kevin) of Rhode Island; brother, Gary (Joanne) of Rhode Island; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his brother Roland Dumont.
