Truman Elementary School fourth-graders are looking for their school’s alumni and former teachers to provide historical documents and stories in preparation for the building’s fall 2011 transition to a middle school.
Report cards, letters, photos, newspaper articles or event programs are examples of some of the many items Jane Hake’s fourth-grade class will collect that tell the story of Lindbergh’s Truman School building from its eras as a junior high, early childhood, middle school and elementary school.
Truman will transition to a middle school in the fall of 2011 as part of Lindbergh’s Prop R 2008, a $31 million bond issue that was overwhelmingly approved by district voters last November. The two-year history project will help cap off Truman’s years as an elementary school and bring it full circle back to a middle school.
