To the editor:
Regarding the violent death of Officer Michael Langsdorf, a photo was published with a 2-year-old boy hanging on to this officer’s neck while being rescued from a fire in 2003. Most people’s hearts bleed over the death of a police officer in the line of duty because we are aware that an officer comes to the rescue of people calling for help every day, many times a day.
Nobody knows how many times just the appearance of an officer saves a life.
The officer, in showing up, becomes the new target for whoever is causing trouble.
Every call is a life and death call for an officer.
God bless those who live and work and take life and death risks to come to the aid of all of us. Police Lives Matter.
